Construction has started on a new facility for the Alamosa County Coroner’s Office at the intersection of 21st Street and Old Sanford Road. The planned building will provide dedicated office space, storage for the deceased, indoor parking for vehicles, and meeting rooms for families.

Currently, the coroner’s office does not have its own specialized facility. This lack of dedicated space has led to inefficiencies in how services are provided. The new structure is expected to be about 2,400 square feet and is scheduled for completion by April 2025.
