Average salary for teachers in Saguache County schools fell short of Colorado’s average in the 2024-25 school year

Saguache County’s teachers earned an average salary of $52,748 during the 2024-25 school year, which fell below the state’s average salary for the same position, according to the Colorado Department of Education.

The average salary for teachers at Saguache County schools increased compared to the previous school year.

Among all school positions in the county, superintendents earned the most at $127,589, while teachers earned the least.

Overall, Saguache County schools paid their employees an average of $58,458 in salaries in the 2024-25 school year.

Colorado’s high school graduation rate reached 84.2% for the class of 2024, marking a 1.1% increase from the previous year and the state’s highest rate in over a decade. Despite the improvement, Colorado’s graduation rate still falls a few percent short of the national average.
