City of Durango releases schedule of public meetings for week of May 18

The City of Durango announced on May 15 the schedule of public meetings planned for the week beginning May 18. The city provided details on how residents can participate and submit comments for each meeting.

This information is important to help residents stay informed about city government activities and opportunities to engage with local officials. Meeting agendas and minutes are available at DurangoCo.Gov/Meetings, and residents can sign up to receive automatic updates at DurangoCo.Gov/NotifyMe.

On Monday, May 18, Mayor Pro Tem Loyer will hold office hours at the Durango Public Library at noon. Later that day, the Community Development Commission will meet in a hybrid format at Smith Chambers and online via Teams. Residents are encouraged to review the agenda for participation instructions or send public comments by email.

Tuesday’s events include an Employee Stronger Together Celebration at Chapman Hill, where councilors may be present but will not make decisions or direct staff. The City Council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday evening as a virtual/in-person event at City Hall, with instructions provided in the agenda for public participation.

Wednesday’s meetings include sessions by the Community and Cultural Relations Commission and Library Advisory Board at the library, as well as an information session about the new City Hall and Police Station project held at the Recreation Center. Thursday features an Airport Commission meeting in person or virtually from La Plata County Airport. No meetings are scheduled Friday.

A preliminary schedule is also available for the following week, including a Historic Preservation Board meeting on Wednesday, May 27, and a Tourism Advisory Commission regular meeting on Thursday, May 28. Residents are invited to share their input through Engage Durango or by using contact forms provided by the city.
