Dolores County updates ambulance licensing regulations for compliance and improved EMS delivery

Dolores County officials have introduced a resolution to revise the county’s ambulance service licensing regulations. The changes are intended to keep local rules in line with Colorado state law and improve emergency medical services across the area.

The proposed amendments clarify requirements for local authorization, set out application procedures, and outline standards for ambulance operations. They also address coordination between agencies and enforcement of the rules. According to county representatives, these updates aim to protect public health and ensure reliable ambulance coverage throughout Dolores County.

“This resolution is presented to amend and update the County’s existing ambulance service licensing regulations to ensure continued compliance with Colorado Revised Statutes and to support the safe, consistent, and efficient delivery of emergency medical services within Dolores County. The amendments clarify local authorization requirements, establish application procedures, and provide standards for operations, coordination, and enforcement in order to protect public health and promote reliable ambulance coverage throughout the County,” stated county officials.
