The Montrose County Sheriff’s Office released its activity blotter on Mar. 19, detailing incidents and arrests from March 17 and 18.

The report provides an overview of law enforcement activities, including welfare checks, traffic stops, arrests on warrants, and assistance to other agencies. The information helps keep the public informed about recent events handled by local deputies.

On March 17, deputies responded to a variety of calls such as an animal welfare check at Woodgate and Kinikin Road, reports of lost license plates, disturbances in several locations, and theft in the 67900 Block Landfill Road. Several individuals were arrested on outstanding warrants: Leah Gorman at the sheriff’s office; Fred Blueeyes and Jay Wright at mile marker 87 on Highway 50; and Shelly Richardson in the 62100 Block Oak Grove Road. Deputies also issued verbal warnings for speeding and equipment violations during traffic stops throughout the day.

March 18 saw further law enforcement actions including a citation issued to Corena Garcia for disregarding a traffic control device, no proof of insurance, and no driver’s license at Spring Creek and Marine Road. Deputies assisted the fire department in the early morning hours on the 2500 Block of 5600 Road. Routine duties included civil processes, directed patrols, and vehicle identification number inspections.

The blotter also lists individuals processed by both Montrose County Sheriff’s Office and Montrose Police Department for various offenses such as failure to appear in court, trespassing, bond revocation, protection order violation, driving under the influence (DUI), reckless driving, open container violations, speeding, lack of insurance or driver’s license, failing to yield right of way or signal turns.

This regular release aims to maintain transparency with residents regarding law enforcement activities within Montrose County.
