San Miguel County issued the following announcement on July 17.
Public Health has confirmed nine new cases over a four-day period, from test results received July 14 – 17. Two of the positive individuals are non-residents, therefore are not included in the total case count illustrated on the County dashboard. The remaining positive cases are residents, bringing total cases to 65 with 11 active cases. None of these current cases have been hospitalized. All positive individuals are in isolation and close contacts have been notified to quarantine.
Public Health stressed the importance of social responsibility and staying dedicated to the Five Commitments of Containment to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
“It’s crucial that our community follows best practices at home, work, and in social situations,” said Public Health Director Grace Franklin. “Complacency will diminish all of the work we have put into keeping each other healthy and reopening the economy.”
