City of Durango issued the following announcement on Oct. 22.
The City of Durango promotes Best Management Practices in the stewardship of City land management to ensure the safe enjoyment of parks and open spaces in the community. The City has contracted with Horizon Environmental Services for noxious weed abatement. The herbicides that will be used are: SureguardSC and Pendulum 3.3 EC. Applications are conducted to improve the quality of the rights-of-way, parks, and open spaces in the City’s system. The weed control is repeatedly tested and approved by the Environmental Protection Agency and Horizon Environmental Services is licensed by the Colorado Department of Agriculture.
Treatment on the Riverview baseball infields and the bull pens at the Durango Softball Complex will occur on Thursday, October 29. Follow up spot spraying at the treated areas will continue through November.
