Men’s Basketball Starts Homestand Saturday

Colorado State men's basketball returns to Moby Arena on Saturday to start a three-game homestand against Mississippi Valley State.
 
Opening Tip
- Colorado State aims to end a two-game skid when they host Mississippi Valley State on Saturday.
- The Rams went 1-2 at the Charleston Classic last week defeating South Carolina in the first round before falling to host Charleston and Penn State to take fourth place.
- CSU's offense struggled to find the bottom of the basket in the third-place game against Penn State shooting 32.8%.
- John Tonje recorded his first career double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds against PSU.
- Isaiah Rivera scored a career-high 15 points for the second straight game in the loss.
- Colorado State enters Saturday with a seven-game home win streak. CSU is 3-0 inside Moby Arena this year and 38-6 in the past four years.
- CSU has not lost three straight non-conference games since Coach Medved's first season in 2018-19.
- Mississippi Valley State took on fellow Mountain West foe Air Force on Wednesday. They lost 64-51 at Air Force.
- Head coach George Ivory is in his first full year as the Delta Devils head coach after closing out the 2021-22 season as the interim.
- Mississippi Valley State is 1-6 on the year with the win over North Alabama.
- Coach Medved is 1-0 against MVSU coach George Ivory. He and the Rams beat Ivory when he coached at Arkansas Pine-Bluff 92-67 in 2018.
- Mississippi Valley State is the alma mater of NFL Hall of Famer Jerry Rice.
- Saturday's game is the first meeting between the two programs.
 
Scouting the Delta Devils
Head coach Grorge Ivory is in his first full year as the Delta Devils head coach after closing out the 2021-22 season as the interim for the final three games.
 
His Delta Devils are 1-6 on the year after falling to Air Force on Wednesday. The lone win came against North Alabama.
 
MVSU has faced a tough schedule opening the year against Baylor and facing fellow Power Five foe Missouri. They also have traveled to Hawaii for an MTE.
 
Teams are scoring 77.7 points a game against Mississippi Valley State while scoring 57.0. Terry Collins is the team's leading scoring and the lone person in double figures for the team at 17.1.
 
What's Ahead
Colorado State continues a three-game homestand by hosting Loyola Marymount on November 30. Tip-off is set for 7 pm.
