Air Force’s Cameron Harris has been named the Mountain West Men’s Track Athlete of the Week, while Colorado State’s Mariano Kis was tabbed the MW Men’s Field Athlete and San José State’s Jeremiah Walker was named the MW Men’s Freshman of the Week.
Boise State’s MaLeigha Menegatti has been selected as the MW Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, while San José State’s Emilia Sjostrand was named the MW Women’s Field Athlete of the Week and Colorado State’s Jo-Anna Pinnock was tabbed the MW Women’s Freshman of the Week.
MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
CAMERON HARRIS, AIR FORCE
Senior, Brighton, Colorado/Brighton HS
- Placed second in the 60-meter hurdles at the Potts Indoor Invitational, clocking a time of 7.99.
- Became the first Falcon in six years to run a sub-8 in the 60-meter hurdles.
- Preliminary time of 7.94 is the fastest time in the MW since 2017.
MARIANO KIS, COLORADO STATE
Senior, Buenos Aires, Argentina/ Tualatin HS
- Won the shot put at the Potts Invitational with a throw of 18.29 meters, breaking the Colorado IPF facility record.
- Top throw in the MW and 21st in the nation this season.
JEREMIAH WALKER, SAN JOSÉ STATE
Fresno, California/Central HS
- Won the 200-meter dash at the Spokane Invitational with a time of 21.49.
- Top time in the MW and tied for 43rd in the NCAA this year.
MALEIGHA MENEGATTI, BOISE STATE
Senior, Pueblo West, Colorado/Pueblo West HS
- Won the 800-meter run at the Spokane Invitational with a personal-best time of 2:05.7.
- Third-fastest time in Boise State history and the third-best NCAA in 2023.
EMILIA SJOSTRAND, SAN JOSÉ STATE
Sophomore, Stockholm, Sweden/Ostra Reals Gymnasium
- Placed first in the triple jump at the Spokane Invitational with a mark of 12.66 meters.
- Top mark in the MW and tied for 18th in the nation this season.
JO-ANNA PINNOCK, COLORADO STATE
Kingston, Jamaica/St. Andrew’s HS
- Won the triple jump at the Potts Invitational with a jump of 12.08 meters.
- Seventh-best mark in the MW this year.
